What is the Business- CTE Department?

The Business Department is a sector of the Career Technical Education (CTE) Program which prepares students for life outside of High School.  CTE specializes in the skilled trades, applied sciences, modern technologies, and career preparation.  The skills and knowledge base acquired during courses can be taken directly to the Industry or in preparation for Higher Education.  Typical skills that are taught include proper handshake etiquette, professional appearance, how to balance a checkbook,  computer coding, and many more!  Typical Business classes cover principles of business, accounting, finance, management, information technology, computer science, and computer software.

Bio

Ms. Marley is a 2011 Guilford College graduate where she majored in Accounting with a double minor in Forensic Accounting and Business Law.  During College and after Graduation, she lead a fulfilling 13 year career in the Banking & Finance Industry.  It was during this time that she made the decision to pursue her passion in Education.  Ms. Marley has been with PGHS since the Spring Semester of 2019 teaching Business, Finance, Management and Information Technology classes within the Career Technical Education Department.  In her spare time, she enjoys ​reading, vacationing to the beach and staying active in the community.
