Bio

Colonel Ash Worboys is a life-long native of North Carolina, was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1990, after graduating from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. He also holds a Master’s of Science in Organizational Leadership from Southern Christian University.

Ash’s duty assignments span 4 years in the Army National Guard, 10 years as a traditional reservist and seventeen years of active duty service in the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) program.

Ash has served in command and staff positions ranging from the company level to the three star Army Service Component Command level.  His oversea combat tours as an advisor or in support of the advisor community include Mosul/Tal Afar Iraq 2004-2005, Nairobi, Kenya 2007-2008 and Kandahar, Afghanistan 2014-2015.

His final active duty assignments were as the G3, 377th Theater Sustainment Command based out of NAS/JRB New Orleans and finally culminating as the Chief of Staff, 377TSC which entails direct supervision of 165 full time personnel leading the TSC staff which supports 6 one star commands comprised of 35,000+ Soldiers; the largest two star command in the total Army.

COL Worboys retired from active duty in June 2020 and became the Senior Army Instructor at Providence Grove High School in central North Carolina in September 2020.

COL Worboy’s awards include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Australian Silver Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Combat Action Badge, and Order of the Combat Spur from the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment and the 1st Cavalry Division. He is a graduate of the Armor Officer Basic Course, Transportation Officer Advanced Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, and Command and General Staff College. Ash and his wife, MaryDale Morgan of Asheboro have been married more than 25 years and they have one child, Hampton (24).
